Group Personal Accident Insurance (GPA) provides protection against death or dismemberment arising solely and directly from an accident. GPA is a rider which must be attached to either Group Term Life or Group Hospital & Surgical Insurance Policy.
If an employee sustains accidental bodily injury which leads to losses as stated in the Schedule of Benefits provided in the policy contract, insurance benefits will be payable, so long as:
Such loss occurs before the employee reaches age 65; and
The injury is caused solely and directly by accident, independent of any other causes, within 12 months from the date of accident.
The entry age of the Insured Employee must be from 16 to 65 years at next birthday. The Insured Employee must be working on a full-time basis and gainfully employed, and have satisfied all other eligibility criteria set by the Employer.
Suicide, attempted suicide or self-inflicted injures, regardless of the Insured Member's mental condition;
War (declared or undeclared war), invasion, act of foreign enemy, hostilities, civil war, rebellion, revolution, insurrection, military or usurped power;
Participation in racing on wheels;
Participation in a riot or civil commotion, violation or attempted violation of law, or resistance to lawful arrest or imprisonment;
Air travel, other than as a fare-paying passenger on a licensed commercial aircraft.
